Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services seeks an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our team. The role covers mechanical and electrical duties, including walk-in refrigeration and freezer equipment, chillers, and building systems maintenance for commercial and industrial sites.

Reports to Chief Engineer and Project Manager. Essential duties include performing maintenance, installing units, operating and repairing boilers, HVAC units, and walk-in coolers/freezers, with strict safety and paperwork practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial-industrial building equipment including chillers, pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and specifications.
• Practical knowledge of Building Air Systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and service repairs on building mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Installs new units or replacement parts according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Operates, maintains, and adjusts all building equipment including boilers, HVAC units, walk-in refrigeration/freezer equipment, and controls.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance.
• Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Ensures safety practices and policies are followed.
• Demonstrates initiative and maintains customer relations.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

Job description

Valiant is looking for a HVAC Mechanic to join our team! This is a skilled mechanical and electrical position, must have experience with walk‑in refrigeration and freezer equipment, chillers, performing maintenance, installation, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilating systems for commercial and industrial applications and other building equipment. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient operation, maintenance and repair, and minimum downtime during their shift, of all equipment and building systems. This position reports to the Chief Engineer and Project Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs maintenance and service repairs on building mechanical and HVAC systems
• Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
• Operates, maintains, and adjusts all building equipment including boilers, turbines, pumps, HVAC units, walk-in refrigeration and freezer equipment, lighting, and power equipment.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance
• Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Follows all safety practices and adheres to all safety related policies.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Demonstrates initiative in assignments and maintains positive customer relations.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT

• CFC certification
• Journeyman HVAC or MD 1ST desired

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years' experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial-industrial building equipment include but not limited to: Chillers =/+ 500 tons, pumps, controls, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs, VFDs, walk-in coolers/freezers, and refrigeration systems.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and specifications.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Building Air Systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing.
