Job summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest in Covington, TN, is seeking a full-time day Associate Instructor in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration to join the Covington Branch Campus. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction, support student learning, and maintain a safe, productive lab and classroom environment.

This role emphasizes teaching, evaluating progress, and helping students develop technical and employability skills for success.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal certification required.
• HVAC/R system knowledge across residential/commercial.
• Minimum 3 years industry experience; 5 years preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct HVAC/R curriculum for all assigned phases.
• Monitor grades and student progress; maintain records.
• Maintain positive relations with industries and advisory committee.
• Collaborate with industry partners for work-based learning.
• Support dual enrollment and pathways with K-12 partners.
• Assist in curriculum development, accreditation, and planning.
• Perform other duties to support TCAT Northwest.
