Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Quality Control professional to ensure HVAC project materials and processes meet regulatory and client standards. The role involves site inspections, shop fabrication reviews, and ensuring procedures are followed and code compliant.

The candidate should have a high school degree and at least 5 years of progressive QC experience, with strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills. The position is on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 5 years of progressive quality control experience or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of all construction aspects (technology, equipment, processes, methods).
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality standards for installation of materials and products for Mechanical HVAC systems.
• Review shop fabrications for drawing conformance and verify installation, ensuring code compliance.
• Perform job walks and inspections at construction sites and fabrication facilities; verify proper testing procedures.
• Document and communicate inspection results; identify solutions for non-compliant situations.
• Maintain procedural documents, continuity logs and code books; conduct training as needed.
• Partner with superintendents to maintain resource licenses and renewal dates.
• Review project equipment specifications and assist teams in defining roles and expectations.
