Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking an HVAC design engineer to conceptualize, design, and implement custom HVAC projects for commercial and industrial facilities. You will assist the Sales team with preliminary design, submittals, and specs analysis while performing psychrometric analyses and using CAD tools.

You will develop unit operation sequences, select DDC components, and coordinate with electrical for wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering field.
• Experience with HVAC design for commercial/industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of psychrometric analysis and HVAC system balancing.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, develop, and implement HVAC projects for commercial/industrial facilities.
• Assist Sales with preliminary design, submittals and technical specs analysis.
• Perform psychrometric analysis of design requests and iterate designs.
• Conduct design/development tasks using CAD and in-house HVAC tools.
• Utilize in-house software for refrigeration system balance and operation.
• Select components and prepare bills of materials for Purchasing.
• Support supplier qualification and component procurement.
• Develop unit sequence of operation and select DDC components.
• Provide unit operation sequence to electrical for wiring diagrams.
• Prepare production instructions and troubleshoot during testing before shipment.
