Job summary

gpac is recruiting a Project Engineer/Assistant PM for a Mechanical/HVAC subcontractor in Sacramento. You will read plans, perform takeoffs, draft budgets and proposals, and help steer projects from kickoff through completion.

A strong communicator who works well in a team, with experience in AutoCAD or Bluebeam and proficiency in MS Office, will help ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with reading plans and takeoffs.
• Budgeting and proposal development experience.

Responsibilities

• Read plans and perform onscreen takeoffs.
• Create project budgets and proposals for customers.
• Manage projects during production to meet budget.
• Schedule job-site visits with the Production Team.
• Prepare takeoff sheets, pricing and estimates for specialty projects.
• Extract details from plans as needed.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email.
