Job summary

EMI Services is hiring HVAC Preventative Maintenance Helpers to support mission-critical infrastructure at Camp Lejeune. You will perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including air handlers and VAV systems, to keep machines running smoothly.

The role offers consistent, non-seasonal hours with no travel. A high school diploma and relevant experience or technical training are required, with overtime and U.S. citizenship needed for access to military installations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades.
  • Valid driver's license with REAL ID Act compliance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Regular, dependable attendance.
  • Overtime- available evenings & weekends.
  • U.S. citizenship to access military installations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect motors, pulleys and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform maintenance actions.
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Repair or replace parts and reassemble equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EMI Service is hiring HVAC Preventative Maintenance Helpers to support mission-critical infrastructure at Camp Lejeune! Performing preventive maintenance of various types of commercial HVAC equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly is the primary responsibility of the Preventive Maintenance Helper. Types of equipment include air handlers and VAV systems. You may also assist workers and journeyman by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment. The ideal EMI HVAC Helper performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.

Salary

TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE $39.12 per hour!

$23.87/ hr. plus $15.25 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect motors, pulleys and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts
  • repair or replace parts and reassemble equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
  • Some knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in heating and cooling equipment and machinery

  • PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions

Preferred Qualification
  • HIGHLY prefer someone with basic knowledge of HVAC refrigeration and/or systems
  • CFC License or ability to obtain CFC License (minimum Type 2) within 90 days of employment
