Job summary

Controlled Combustion in NYC is seeking a dependable HVAC & Plumbing Warehouse Associate to manage inventory, receive shipments, organize materials, and prepare orders for technicians and project teams. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work with office staff and field crews.

This on-site position is based in our Bronx office; daily commuting from Bronx, NY 10458 is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year warehouse/inventory experience preferred.
• Experience with HVAC/plumbing parts is a plus.
• Able to lift and move materials safely.
• Proficient with basic inventory systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and stock HVAC and plumbing materials and supplies.
• Pull, stage, and prepare parts for jobs and service calls.
• Maintain inventory levels with regular counts and updates.
• Organize the warehouse to keep items labeled, stored, and easy to locate.
• Prepare shipments and coordinate with technicians and office staff.

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription: Controlled Combustion is the leading heating contractor in NYC. We serve a variety of industries, including luxury apartments, hospitals, universities, and more. With over 150 employees, our team is as diverse as the services we offer. We’re looking for a dependable HVAC & Plumbing Warehouse Associate to support our operations by managing inventory, receiving shipments, organizing materials, and preparing orders for our technicians and project teams.This role is hands-on and detail-focused, working closely with our operations and service departments to ensure the right parts and equipment are available when needed.Please note that this position is strictly in-office. Hybrid or remote is not available for this position. Employee will be expected to commute to our Bronx office on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and stock incoming HVAC and plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Pull, stage, and prepare parts and materials for jobs, service calls, and internal requests.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular counts and updates to tracking systems/spreadsheets.
• Organize the warehouse to ensure parts are clearly labelled, safely stored, and easy to locate.
• Track and replenish frequently used items; communicate low stock and lead times to supervisors.
• Coordinate with office staff, purchasing, and technicians to resolve missing/incorrect items.
• Prepare shipments and deliveries (packing, labelling, and documentation as needed).
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment; follow safety procedures for lifting and storage.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks and special projects as needed.

Experience (Preferred)

Requirements: Qualifications / Skills

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, move, and organize materials safely (typical warehouse lifting requirements).
• Comfortable using basic inventory systems, spreadsheets, and email communication.
• Strong organizational skills—able to keep the warehouse clean, labelled, and efficient.
• Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing materials (pipes, fittings, valves, controls, pumps, boilers, consumables, etc.) is a plus.
• Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude.
• Ability to handle sensitive company/vendor pricing and purchasing information with discretion.
• Forklift experience/certification is a plus (if applicable to your warehouse needs).

Minimum Education and Work Experience

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience in heating, oil and gas, HVAC, plumbing, or construction industries a plus.
