Sheren Plumbing & Heating is seeking an HVAC & Plumbing Apprentice based in Traverse City, Michigan. You will support commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects across Northern Michigan, assisting skilled trades professionals and learning installation methods.

Hands-on training, safety-focused work, and opportunities to advance as your skills grow. This role starts at the apprentice level with potential for growth across departments and leadership paths.

Responsibilities

• Work as an HVAC & Plumbing Apprentice based in Traverse City, Michigan.
• Support commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects in Northern Michigan.
• Assist experienced professionals on job sites and learn systems and installation methods.
• Handle tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently on site.
• Move, stage, and organize materials and supplies as needed.
• Follow safety practices and jobsite procedures daily.

Your New Role

• Work as an HVAC & Plumbing Apprentice based in Traverse City, Michigan

• Support commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects throughout Northern Michigan

• Work throughout Sheren's Traverse City service territory, including Grand Traverse, Antrim, Benzie, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford counties

• Assist experienced HVAC professionals, plumbers, and mechanical installers with jobsite work

• Learn HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, mechanical equipment, installation methods, and commercial construction practices

• Use hand tools, power tools, materials, and mechanical equipment safely and effectively

• Help move, stage, organize, and install materials, equipment, piping, tools, and jobsite supplies

• Perform hands‑on construction and foundational apprentice duties throughout the workday

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying jobsite and Michigan weather conditions

• Follow safety procedures, jobsite requirements, instructions, and established construction practices

• Develop your mechanical aptitude and technical skills through daily hands‑on experience

• Show up dependable, prepared to work, and ready to learn from experienced tradespeople

• Take on increasingly complex work and responsibilities as your skills develop

• Build the foundation for a long‑term career in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical installation, and commercial construction

• Mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in building a career in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical construction, or the skilled trades

• Comfortable working with your hands and learning to use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment

• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with construction and skilled‑trade work

• Willing and able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions

• Ability to follow instructions, jobsite procedures, and established safety practices

• Dependable attendance and consistent work habits

• Willingness to begin with foundational apprentice duties while learning the technical side of the trade

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other jobsite professionals

• Previous HVAC, plumbing, construction, farming, landscaping, automotive, small-engine, mechanical, or other hands‑on experience is beneficial but not required

• Ability to work on projects throughout Traverse City and the surrounding Northern Michigan service area
