Job Description
This role requires a skilled journeyman installer who can perform HVAC installations according to design specifications, mechanical codes, and company quality standards. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or alongside a crew in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install complete HVAC systems in new residential construction, including furnaces, air handlers, condensers, ductwork, and related components.
- Read and interpret mechanical plans, blueprints, and installation drawings.
- Set equipment, run ductwork, refrigerant lines, gas piping, and condensate drains.
- Ensure all installations meet local and national mechanical codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform system start-ups, testing, and verification of proper operation.
- Troubleshoot installation-related issues and make necessary corrections.
- Coordinate work with builders, superintendents, and other trades on job sites.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and installation records.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Journeyman-level HVAC installation experience in new residential construction.
- Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and construction documents.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to HVAC installation.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a crew in a construction environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in attics, crawl spaces, and on ladders.
- EPA Section 608 Certification (required).
- OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
