Job summary

Sea Research Foundation, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Technician in Mystic, CT. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC equipment, including refrigeration and heating systems, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Flexibility for on-call and overtime is required, and a valid driver’s license is needed. The position offers full-time, hourly pay with benefits and opportunities to work with experienced maintenance teams in a dynamic aquarium facility

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Apprentice License and EPA Certification with at least six months of trade-related work experience, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and equipment.
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain specialized equipment and tools for HVAC maintenance.
• Regularly inspect equipment to identify maintenance risks and ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with HVAC codes and maintain a safe work environment.
• Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacement.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
