Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Arlington, VA. The role requires 3-5+ years in HVAC design and experience with commercial, institutional, and mission critical facilities. Hybrid work is available; EIT is required and PE is a plus. You will collaborate across disciplines and assist with design, energy modeling, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or higher)
• 4-7 years of experience in the MEP industry
• EIT certification is required; PE license is a plus or actively pursuing licensure
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the mechanical design process for new construction and renovation projects, including HVAC systems
• Assist with conceptual designs, equipment selection, drawings, specs, and energy modeling
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure code compliance and constructability
• Support construction administration tasks: RFIs, submittals, site visits
• Monitor project quality, schedule, and budget requirements
• Engage with clients to understand design needs and contribute to solutions
• Develop skills in project management while working with senior engineers
