Job Description:

  • Performs preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications, state codes, and established safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform work in various environments, including rooftops and outside work on condensers.
  • Must be able to work in hot/damp areas as well as cold/dry locations.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, and work on ladders.
  • Performs necessary clerical duties related to the job and can read blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complex tasks and may lead and direct the work of others.
  • Provides support services in other fields within the Facilities Department.

Qualifications:

  • Requires Technical/Trade School certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires at least 4 years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • EPA 608 License or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Complete knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • General knowledge of electrical distribution systems, plumbing, Life/Safety Systems, boilers, chillers, emergency power systems, UPS systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and Energy Management Systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computers.
  • Prior casino/hotel experience is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and comply with laws and regulations affecting the casino and racing industry.
  • Excellent logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer and employee relations skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
