HVAC Mechanic: Lancaster, Pa. (Full-Time, Days)

Working for this leading academic medical center means collaboration with top clinical, technical, and business professionals across all disciplines.

We are seeking a qualified HVAC Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on refrigeration and HVAC systems at Lancaster General Hospital, located at 555 N Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17642. This full-time position offers day shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional weekends.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment such as ice machines, freezers, refrigerators, and water coolers.
  • Troubleshooting, operating, and providing preventive maintenance for chillers, ice machines, and other refrigeration systems.
  • Maintaining indoor air quality and space conditions through HVAC systems, including calibrating thermostats, servicing induction units, and inspecting systems.
  • Supporting air handling and control systems, including repairs and preventive maintenance to meet hospital policies and guidelines.
  • Performing plumbing repairs related to water, steam, and refrigeration systems.
  • Assisting with air balancing, static pressure, and flow measurements.
  • Supporting other duties such as pump and motor repairs, parts inventory management, snow removal, and installation tasks related to remodeling or construction.
  • Participating in on-call responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Universal Certification in Refrigeration
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
  • At least 5 years of HVAC service and installation experience
  • 2 years of technical training in HVACR or equivalent
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Trade school or apprenticeship graduate
  • 5 years of hospital construction and maintenance experience
  • 2 years of master or journeyman trade status
  • 2 years of commercial HVACR experience
  • 2 years of DDC and energy management experience
