Qualifications

  • 8+ years of HVAC service-related experience required.
  • Licenses in AC/Refrigeration and HVAC State A are mandatory.

Job description

We’re looking for a HVAC Mechanic III, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include Heating, Ventilation
and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for HVAC and associated systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by management team.
  2. Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  3. Perform repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes.
  4. Provide notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership, departmental personnel, and Service Response Center Operators.
  5. Maintain documentation to accurately record equipment problems and failures, including work order completeness.
  6. Report major failures and equipment malfunctions to Manager.
  7. Assist with, oversee and/or inspect repairs or modifications performed by contractors.
  8. Demonstrate ability to perform HVAC skills.
  9. Create a bill of materials from blueprints.
  10. Demonstrate ability to perform Unit 200 Duties as required to successfully complete the Unit 200 Competency checklist.
  11. Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving maintenance duties for HVAC and associated systems and equipment according to standards established by management team.
  12. Demonstrate technical knowledge depth for HVAC and associated systems according to standards established by the management team.
  13. Demonstrate work product meets the expected criteria.
  14. Demonstrate accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic and teamwork.
  15. Demonstrate accountability for effective communication skills.
  16. Demonstrate accountability for management skill sets.
  17. Consistently demonstrate positive, responsible leadership and guidance.

Skills & Requirements

  1. Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  2. Required Licenses/Certifications
    1. ACR - AC/Refrigeration Contractor by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
    2. HVACAWC - HVAC State A with C endorse by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
    3. STATENG1 - Stationary Engineer, 1st Grade by the City of Houston
  3. Required 8 years' experience as an HVAC service-related technician
  4. Preferred Hospital experience, high-rise HVAC systems experience, and Building Automation System (BAS) experience
