Job summary

Piedmont Service Group, a Raleigh, NC–based energy efficiency and facilities services company, seeks a Level II HVAC Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, service repairs, startup and commissioning of standard HVAC equipment, and to mentor Level I technicians. Reading blueprints and schematics, plus knowledge of ductwork and refrigerant management, are essential.

Qualifications

• HVAC vocational training or trade certificate(s).
• 3+ years HVAC experience with troubleshooting experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent; degree/cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventive and predictive maintenance and service repairs on HVAC systems without supervision.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, startup, adjust and replace mechanical equipment and control components.
• Identify predictive failures and provide accurate information for spot quotes.
• Start up and commissioning of Standard HVAC equipment.
• Diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
• Replace or repair defective components including motors, controls, and electrical wiring.
• Test systems to ensure proper functioning after service.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Follow all required safety protocols.
• Ability to mentor Level I HVAC Mechanics
• Utilize DST Technology
