Job summary

Baltimore County is hiring an Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanic II in Towson, MD. The selected candidate will perform journeyman level installation, maintenance, service, and repair of heating, air conditioning, refrigerating, and ventilating equipment, including various units.

The position requires four years of relevant experience, with at least two years in commercial/industrial settings, and EPA Type I & II certifications. A valid Maryland Class C driver’s license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Four years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, air conditioning, refrigerating, and ventilating equipment.
• Plus at least two years of which included commercial and/or industrial units.
• Related education may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service, and repair HVAC equipment including window and package units, freezers, water coolers, pumps, and related parts.
• Lead or instruct lesser skilled workers and monitor contractor activities for quality and conformance to standards.
• Keep cost and operational records and prepare lists of parts and supplies to requisition.
• Drive an automobile or light truck to transport workers and equipment to job sites.
