Are you a skilled HVAC Mechanic looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference? Join our Hospital Maintenance team and play a critical role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in our healthcare facility, ensuring the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems, including automatic temperature controls, chillers, boilers, and more.
  • Operate and adjust energy management systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment, air handling systems, and cooling towers.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA regulations using refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff for swift solutions in critical situations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a strong commitment to safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required.

MVR: Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession of a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Candidate must be able to demonstrate verifiable skills in the following:

  • Installation of a single duct direct digital variable air volume controller on a single duct air terminal and set it up to be fully functional.
  • Traversing an air duct using a manometer and calculating the amount of air flowing through the cut.
  • Must be able to overhaul a compressor on a through wall package A/C unit.

Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of this position:

  • Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet.
  • Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances.
  • Working in confined spaces.
  • Working within extreme temperature ranges.

Work Schedule: The regular work hours will be established. Incumbent must have flexibility due to on-call requirements. Position is designated as essential personnel.
