Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center in Montgomery County, PA is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to operate, maintain, install and troubleshoot hospital HVAC/R systems, including chillers and towers. You will ensure refrigerant compliance and perform inspections to uphold reliability and safety per NFPA/ASHRAE guidelines.

The role requires completion of an HVAC/R program and a high school diploma, with preferred Philadelphia Class A license and prior experience in hospital settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program completion from a certified technical school or training program.
• Philadelphia Class A license preferred for Philadelphia hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Maintains and repairs all equipment using refrigerants for heating/cooling, including cooling towers, auxiliary equipment, steam and controls systems.
• Troubleshoots heating and cooling problems including AHUs, fans, pumps, cooling towers, VFDs and related equipment.
• Installs new and/or replacement components and complete units including motors, belts, fans, thru walls, compressors, ice machines, valves, actuators, and other related equipment.
• Welds, brazes and solders piping, valves and associated components.
• Reads and works from blueprints, specifications, and owner’s manuals.
• Inspects and tests all HVAC related systems for reliability. Employs predictive technology such as vibrations and thermography for ongoing maintenance needs.
• Performs other maintenance duties and functions as needed and as directed by the supervisor or lead.
