Job summary

Edelman Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Electric & Solar is seeking an HVAC Manager to run the department across Illinois and Wisconsin. You will lead technicians, own job costing, estimates, and margins, and ensure quality and safety on every installation and service call.

Requirements include EPA Section 608 Certification and deep HVAC knowledge. You must be willing to support multiple locations across IL and WI, with a compensation range of $100,000–$130,000 plus benefits.

What You'll Do

• Own the Department: Take full ownership of HVAC service and installation operations — residential and commercial — across our Illinois and Wisconsin locations.
• Lead the Team: Manage technician scheduling, performance, and development, and build a bench of technicians who do the job right the first time.
• Protect Quality: Hold every job to the Edelman standard — proper installs, honest diagnostics, no shortcuts.
• Own the Numbers: Manage job costing, estimates, and margin accountability for the department — this is your P&L to run.
• Solve Problems Before They Escalate: When something goes sideways on a job site, you're the one who fixes it and keeps the customer's trust intact.
• Set the Standard for Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, EPA refrigerant compliance (Section 608), and code requirements without exception.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Proven leadership experience managing residential and/or commercial HVAC operations.
• Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and refrigerant handling — you can walk a job site and know within minutes if it was done right.

• Business Acumen: Comfortable owning job costing, scheduling, and margin accountability, not just technical oversight.
