Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.(Do not delete, move or over-write this statement)
  • Monitor, inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment across hospital’s HVAC, plumbing, electrical and/or boiler operation systems to diagnose machine malfunctions and maintain systems’ working order. Reads thermometers and gages and records readings.
  • Conducts and oversees repairs and upgrades to above hospital systems as needed.
  • Estimates and orders materials needed for work projects.
  • Possesses working knowledge of other trades to ensure coordination of work projects.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Completes rounding to identify and resolve regulatory compliance deficiencies.
  • Assists and/or performs the work of trade other maintenance technicians and teams as needed.
Education - Required
  • High School Diploma/GED diploma or equivalent. Trade or vocational school graduate with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, mathematics. Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
Experience - Required
  • Successful completion of training from a certified technical school or program. Journeyman-level credential or equivalent in skilled craft (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) with Philadelphia Class A or NJ Black Seal stationary engineer license (depending on division location); OR two journeyman-level credentials in different skilled crafts (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.). HVAC-certified incumbents must possess Refrigerant Recovery License (to purchase Freon). Trade or vocational school graduate with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, mathematics. Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
