Job summary

Whipple Service Champions is seeking a motivated HVAC Maintenance technician in Utah to join our growing team. You will perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups on residential HVAC systems, diagnose performance issues, and educate homeowners on energy-saving practices.

Ideal candidates have basic mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA Certification and HVAC certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and tune-ups on residential HVAC equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues, identifying potential problems before they become major repairs.
• Clean, inspect, and replace filters, belts, coils, motors, and other system components as needed.
• Test and verify proper operation of heating, cooling, ventilation, and indoor air quality systems.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and customer documentation.
• Educate homeowners on system operation, maintenance recommendations, and energy-saving best practices.
• Ensure all work is compliant with company standards, manufacturer specs, and safety regulations.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and maintenance equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at customer locations.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors to deliver exceptional service.
• Assist with equipment installations, parts replacement, and repair projects when needed.
• Lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50 pounds in various environments.

Who YOU Are:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous HVAC maintenance, service, trade school training, or related experience preferred but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn HVAC systems, tools, and industry best practices.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, climbing ladders, bending, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and a professional appearance and demeanor.
• EPA Certification and HVAC certifications are a plus but not required.
