Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking an HVAC Technician, Maintenance - Manufacturing to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant equipment through hands-on maintenance and improvement initiatives.

You will work Sunday to Thursday, 7pm–3am, supporting PMT and TPM activities and collaborating with engineering to implement modifications. The role involves safety solutions, training peers, predictive maintenance, and assisting with inspections and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports PMT, TPM, and energy reduction activities through team membership and completion of assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering and perform equipment modifications with change control documentation (CMR/EWR).
• Involved in safety solutions.
• Assist in skill training for B-4 mechanic and manufacturing operator roles.
• Use predictive maintenance tools and attend training to train others in Laser Alignment, Vibration Analysis, Infrared, and Ultrasonic methods.
• Develop tools (jigs) for standard equipment checks.
• Refine Preventative Maintenance programs and generate new PMs.
• Analyze machine failures for root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in annual inspections and monitor parts spending and reliability trends.
• Communicate with PLCs and Servos using a laptop to diagnose issues.
• Use drawings, multimeter, and diagnostic equipment to diagnose electrical issues.
• Diagnose mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues.
• Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setup/changeovers.
• Use HVAC gages to fix or charge systems.
• Support new equipment installs and provide installation oversight.

The HVAC Technician, Maintenance - Manufacturing is a Salaried Non-Exempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant manufacturing equipment through hands on maintenance and maintenance related initiatives.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 7pm - 3am

What you'll be doing

• Directly supports PMT, TPM, and energy reduction activities through team membership, innovative thinking, and completion of assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering and perform equipment modifications to include the required change control documentation (CMR/EWR)
• Involved in safety solutions
• Act as a resource in B-4 mechanic and manufacturing operator skill training.
• Understand the use of predictive maintenance tools - Develop opportunities to use predictive tools by attending training and then training others in Laser Alignment - Vibration Analysis – Infrared – Ultrasonic
• Develop tools (jigs) for standard equipment checks
• Preventative Maintenance generation and or refinement of existing PMs
• Analyze machine failures for root cause and implement corrective actions
• Assist in annual inspections
• Monitor parts spending and reliability trends
• Use a laptop to communicate with PLCs and Servos to diagnose issues
• Use a drawing package, multi-meter and other diagnostic equipment to determine electrical issues
• Diagnose mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues
• Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers
• Ability to use a standard set of HVAC gages to fix and or charge a unit.
• New Equipment installs – works with engineers, vendors, and equipment suppliers
• Installation support – act as lead technician on floor, advising central maintenance and other supporting groups
