Job summary

Akima Intra-Data is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician for our on-site customer location at Keesler AFB. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and basic control systems operation to ensure continuous HVAC performance on base facilities.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, a valid US driver’s license, and at least two years of HVAC maintenance experience. A background check is mandatory; EPA Universal certification is desirable or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Two years of verifiable related HVAC maintenance / troubleshooting experience.
• Able to pass a National Agency background check.
• EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) CFC/HCFC Refrigerant Processing Certification or ability to obtain desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment per manufacturer recommendations (valves, motors, belts, bearings, filters, lubrication).
• Learn basics of equipment management controls (Metasys, Siemens, TAC) to start/stop equipment during preventive maintenance.
• Identify and repair potential problems found during maintenance and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Requisition/maintain stock of replacement parts for repair of facilities equipment.
• Read and interpret work orders.
• Assist HVAC mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs of systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

• Learn basics of equipment management controls (Metasys, Siemens, TAC) to be able to start and stop equipment properly during preventive maintenance.
• Identify and repair any potential problems found on HVAC equipment during preventive maintenance and notify supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Requisitions and maintains stock of replacement parts used in repair of facilities equipment.

• Assist HVAC mechanics in the performance of routine maintenance and repairs to systems.
