Job description

We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC/Low Temp Refrigeration Technician to service, install, and repair HVAC, chiller, and refrigeration systems, including ultra-low temperature freezers and cascade refrigeration units, for both existing and new accounts. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex mechanical systems while ensuring safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong refrigeration background, excellent electrical and schematic reading skills, and familiarity with Building Management Systems and PC-based applications. Professionalism, clear communication, and the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Service, install, and repair HVAC, chiller, and refrigeration equipment efficiently and safely, including ultra low temperature freezers and cascade refrigeration for existing and new accounts.
  • Use working knowledge of all mechanical systems for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex mechanical HVAC equipment.
  • Use knowledge of PCs, application software, and Building Management Systems.
  • Read electrical schematics.
  • Perform chiller preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on freezers and cascade units.
  • Maintain records of work performed and parts/materials used.
  • Utilize company and vendor resources.
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
  • Follow schedules and budgets.
  • Wear company uniform and required safety PPE, perform job hazard analysis.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication.
  • Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
  • Explain technical information effectively and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
