Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Garden, FL is seeking an HVAC Journeyman to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on hospital HVAC systems, ensuring reliability and safety.

You will assist the Master Mechanic, monitor system performance, document work, and coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption. Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift.

Qualifications

• General HVAC Journeyman knowledge.
• Knowledge in testing and troubleshooting HVAC equipment.
• Education: High School Grad or Equiv or 5+ years experience
• Preferred healthcare experience.
• 3+ mechanical and electrical background in HVAC equipment or equivalent
• Physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including changing filters, cleaning blower wheels, and greasing bearings and motors.
• Inspect and maintain air handlers, fan coils, exhaust fans, supply fan pumps, and other HVAC components to ensure proper operation.
• Replace worn or damaged parts such as V-belts, small motors, thermostats, and pulleys.
• Troubleshoot minor issues with HVAC equipment and perform necessary repairs.
• Assist the Master Mechanic with more complex troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC systems.
• Monitors system performance and makes adjustments to optimize efficiency and functionality.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and uses proper safety equipment while working on HVAC systems.
• Completes corrective work orders in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Documents maintenance activities and repairs for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
• Communicates effectively with other departments and staff to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
