Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Park is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the night shift to support nursing and patient care. You will manage patient records, prepare charts, and coordinate with physicians and departments to ensure smooth admission, transfer, and discharge processes.

The role requires strong English spelling, medical terminology knowledge, and computer skills. A high school diploma or GED and CPR (BLS) certification are required; hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or completion of Health Unit Coordinator coursework
• 1+ hospital experience or health unit coordinator experience
• CPR (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit.

• Notifies and calls other departments or physicians when necessary and places appropriate information on the chart, forms, computer, and electronic record.
• Accesses the medication room to place medications in a secure area upon arrival to the floor.

• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and accurately documents and monitor activities as needed.
• Interacts with patients in a manner appropriate to their age, acuity, and culture.
• Posts pertinent patient data in a timely manner.
• Responds appropriately in emergency situations.
• Performs indirect patient care duties related to admission, transfer, and discharge.

Licenses and Certifications:

$16.02 - $25.63
