Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a Lab Technician III in California to run performance tests on refrigeration merchandisers and related systems. You will gather data, analyze results, and prepare reports to inform engineering feedback and product improvements.

You’ll also configure test setups and support the lab operations in a collaborative team. Qualifications include a Technical Certificate in HVAC (or associate degree preferred) and 5+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

• HVAC knowledge with brazing and electrical skills.
• EPA certification (universal) for refrigerant handling preferred.
• Technical Certificate in HVAC required; Associate degree preferred.
• Experience working in a team; ability to prepare and present reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing per conventional procedures and industry standards.
• Set up Hussmann merchandisers for testing with refrigeration, electrical and data acquisition instrumentation.
• Conduct testing as directed by the Evaluation Engineer or Lab Manager.
• Assist Lab team and transfer knowledge to colleagues.
• Support floor testing (structural, sound, transit) as assigned.
• Follow safety protocols in place in the company.
• Develop reports using Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Hussmann data acquisition system.
