How will you do it

We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics with practical work experience in their trade, including HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry.

Mechanics should have practical experience with light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment and may need to pass an examination to identify special skills. The scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service. Service personnel may partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Responsibilities include maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to resolve facility inefficiencies and service-related issues. Act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service. Make recommendations to improve facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities, and provide quotes to support your recommendations.

What we look for
Required
  • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team, willing to learn and responsible for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services in this fast-growing business.
  • Must be a member or willing to join a local Union.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting within the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
  • Mechanical shaft alignment skills using dial indicators for pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Ability to use vibration equipment for troubleshooting drive lines.
  • Travel may be required (10% to 20%) to support branch customer activities, troubleshooting, installation, and repair.

You will need to pass a knowledge examination to assess your proficiencies. There are opportunities for career development through training programs in HVAC products and sales quoting. You will collaborate with other local market mechanics, servicemen, and apprentices. Attention to detail, interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills are essential to effectively communicate with customers about problems, causes, and corrective actions. Ability to provide quotes and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program is expected. We seek a self-starter with a passion for learning and applying new skills, prioritizing safety, and possessing a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licenses, and a valid driver’s license.
