Job summary

Glenmont Job Corps Center is seeking an experienced HVAC Instructor to deliver classroom and shop-based HVAC training. You will translate industry knowledge into practical lessons, guiding students toward EPA Section 608 and NCCER credentials and embedding safety and professionalism into every session.

The role combines teaching with mentorship, requiring a minimum of one year in teaching or a related field, plus HVAC experience.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one-year experience in teaching or related field is required.
• Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state where the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization.
• Previous Job Corps experience is preferred.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and meet insurability requirements.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 pounds and standing, walking, climbing as needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach HVAC theory and hands-on skills in classroom and shop environments.
• Prepare students for EPA Section 608 Certification and NCCER credentials.
• Monitor student progress and provide coaching when needed.
• Maintain accurate training documentation and record progress.
• Create a structured, safety-focused learning environment for young adults.
