Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Apprentice to support the installation of HVAC equipment under the Mechanical Foreman. You will work on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related systems in light commercial and multifamily buildings.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of HVAC installation experience, OSHA 30 preferred, and a HS diploma or GED. EPA certification is a plus, with knowledge of IMC/SMACNA and local codes contributing to jobsite safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience installing HVAC systems.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• EPA certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of IMC/SMACNA guidelines and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Install heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other equipment per manufacturer specs and company requirements.
• Install copper refrigerant lines using brazing and soldering.
• Install flex, duct board, and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial/multifamily buildings.
• Inspect HVAC systems to identify hazards or defects and coordinate repairs to ensure code compliance.
• Advise Superintendents and Foremen of potential hazards to maintain jobsite safety.
