Build Your Career With a Company That Values Hard Work
C.D. Shanahan’s is a growing, multi-trade company looking for skilled, motivated HVAC Installers who take pride in their work and want to be part of a high-performing team.
We’re not looking for someone who simply shows up, puts in eight hours, and goes home. We’re looking for individuals who take ownership of their work, have a strong work ethic, pay attention to the details, and are always looking for ways to improve.
Whether you’re an experienced Lead Installer or a skilled installer looking to take the next step in your career, we want people who bring a positive attitude, hustle, and professionalism to every job.
We value quality workmanship, efficiency, accountability, and people who go above and beyond without being asked.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, ductless mini-splits, and related equipment.
- Perform complete system replacements and new installations according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable codes.
- Install and modify ductwork, refrigerant lines, condensate drains, venting, gas piping, electrical connections, and accessories within your qualifications.
- Properly perform nitrogen purging, pressure testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging, and system commissioning.
- Install thermostats, humidifiers, filtration systems, surge protection, and indoor air quality equipment.
- Test and verify system operation, airflow, temperature performance, safety controls, and overall installation quality.
- Identify installation challenges and proactively develop solutions rather than waiting for someone else to address them.
- Protect customers’ homes, maintain clean job sites, and leave every installation looking professional.
- Complete required installation checklists, equipment documentation, photographs, and job notes.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, project managers, and office staff.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials in an organized and professional manner.
- Work efficiently with your installation team while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
The Type of Person We’re Looking For
- Strong Work Ethic: You show up ready to work, stay productive, and take pride in accomplishing a full day’s work.
- Self-Motivated & Driven: You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do next. You take initiative and keep the job moving.
- Reliable & Punctual: You arrive on time, prepared, and ready to contribute. Your team can count on you.
- Attention to Detail: You care about how your installations look and perform. You don’t cut corners or settle for “good enough.”
- Problem Solver: You think critically, adapt to challenges, and focus on finding solutions instead of excuses.
- Team Player: You communicate effectively, help your coworkers, and understand that the team’s success matters.
- Customer-Focused: You respect customers, their homes, and their time. You represent the company professionally.
- Accountable: You take responsibility for your workmanship, learn from mistakes, and follow through on commitments.
- Growth-Minded: You’re willing to learn new equipment, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
- Leadership Potential: You lead by example, help less experienced installers develop, and are capable of taking ownership of an installation from start to finish.

- Strong understanding of residential HVAC equipment, installation practices, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.

- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork modifications, venting, and condensate piping.
- EPA Section 608 certification preferred and required when performing work that legally requires certification.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for positions requiring operation of company vehicles.
- Ability to work independently or as part of an installation crew.
- Willingness to follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality control standards.
