A-1 Heating & Cooling is growing, and we're looking for experienced HVAC Installation Technicians to join our residential installation team in the San Jose, CA area.

What You'll Do

As an HVAC Installation Technician, you'll work alongside our teams to install high-quality residential heating and cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install residential heating and cooling systems, including gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits.
• Install and replace ductwork, air distribution systems, and ventilation components.
• Assist with equipment changeouts, system upgrades, and complete HVAC installations.
• Install refrigerant lines, condensate drains, thermostats, and associated HVAC components.
• Perform system startup, testing, and quality-control inspections.
• Follow manufacturer installation requirements, company procedures, and applicable building codes.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
• Work collaboratively with installation leads, project managers, and other team members.
• Deliver a professional and positive customer experience.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Previous hands-on experience with residential HVAC installations.
• Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, tools, materials, and installation practices.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and other residential installation environments.
• Ability to perform physically demanding installation work safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively with a team.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for assigned driving duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience installing residential HVAC equipment.
• EPA Certification.
• Experience with heat pump systems, ductwork, and high-efficiency equipment.
• Knowledge of California mechanical codes and installation requirements.
• Experience performing equipment startups and system commissioning.
