Job summary

ColonialWebb Contractors in Richmond, Virginia, is looking for HVAC Installation and Service Technicians to handle various installations and service agreements. Candidates must possess a state journeyman’s card or master’s license and EPA-approved CFC certification to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Replace heating and cooling systems and associated controls.
  • Install various HVAC equipment and accessories.
  • Perform tenant fit-out alterations and maintain documentation.
  • Keep the service coordinator updated on work orders.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Replace heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
  • Install HVAC equipment and related accessories, including DX equipment up to 50 tons, water‑source heat pumps, fan‑coil units, unit heaters, ductless split systems, and other HVAC equipment and accessories.
  • Perform tenant fit‑out alterations such as ductwork replacement, alterations, thermostat relocations, and other related tasks.
  • Maintain consistent compliance with company and customer policies and procedures, completing required documentation in a timely manner (work orders, quote information, P‑card receipts, logs, customer websites, IVR systems, web‑based applications, and other critical documentation).
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance of self, truck, tools, equipment, and customer property.
  • Obtain purchase orders, properly utilize P‑card, and make small purchases required to complete work.
  • Keep the service coordinator informed of location and status of work orders and projects through constant communication and updating mobile documentation daily at the beginning and end of each work order or project.
  • Attend periodic meetings or trainings as required (review of work progress, discussions about potential problems beyond authority, toolbox, and safety meetings).
Qualifications
  • State journeyman’s card or master’s license.
  • EPA‑approved CFC certification.
  • Knowledge of current BOCA code and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Industry experience in the same field or at least 3years’ experience working as a service and/or installation technician.
  • Ability to read and follow prints and other job‑related documents.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy, make decisions based on measurable criteria, and comprehend technical data.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes varying shifts, short‑notice assignments, emergencies, nights, weekends, and overtime (scheduled and unscheduled) as required.
