Schaal Heating & Cooling, part of TurnPoint Services, is seeking an experienced HVAC Install Technician for our Cedar Rapids, IA team. You will install residential and light commercial systems, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every project.

You’ll read blueprints, fabricate ductwork, perform commissioning, and complete installation documentation, partnering with leads to meet schedules and standards while helping homeowners understand system operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential or light commercial HVAC installation experience required.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent hands-on experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.

Responsabilités

• Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, and ventilation components.
• Fabricate, modify, and install ductwork and related fittings according to specifications.
• Perform equipment start-ups, system testing, and commissioning to ensure proper operation.
• Follow local codes, manufacturer specifications, and company installation standards.
• Maintain clean, organized job sites, tools, and company vehicles.
• Collaborate with installation leads and supervisors to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Explain system operation and basic maintenance to homeowners.
• Complete installation paperwork and other required documentation accurately.

As an HVAC Install Technician, you’ll install residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems while ensuring every job meets our standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of residential or light commercial HVAC installation experience required.


• EPA Universal Certification required.


• HVAC trade school certificate or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, airflow, and ductwork layout.


• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments.


• Strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and pride in delivering quality work.


• A customer-focused attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
