Job summary

Aramark is hiring a Licensed HVAC Technician to support public facilities across Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, including libraries and recreation centers. The candidate must hold a North Carolina H1 or H2 HVAC license and have extensive experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and operating commercial HVAC and BAS systems.

The role involves servicing facilities within about 60 miles of Charlotte, with a focus on safety, documentation, and teamwork to deliver reliable climate

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina HVAC license (H1 or H2) required.
• Certified HVAC Technician credential preferred.
• HVAC Diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent training required.
• 5-7+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and operate commercial HVAC systems across Mecklenburg County facilities.
• Manage chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, RTUs, boilers, and VAV/VFD systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Operate and monitor BAS such as Schneider Electric and Johnson Controls.
• Inspect equipment, monitor gauges and alarms, and ensure proper operation.
• Document maintenance activities and safety records; support on-call and emergency response.
• Coordinate with facilities teams and subcontractors to fulfill work orders.
• Travel within the Charlotte/Mecklenburg County region to service assigned facilities.

Aramark is hiring aLicensed HVAC Technicianto support public facilities throughout Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, including libraries, recreation centers, administrative buildings, and other community facilities across the greater Charlotte market.

This role is ideal for experienced HVAC professionals looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with consistent work, strong support, and modern building systems. Technicians will service a territory within approximately 60 miles of Charlotte while working in clean, well-maintained, public-facing facilities that directly support the local community.

Candidates must possess a validNorth Carolina H1 or H2 HVAC licenseand have strong experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and operating commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems.

Compensation: This role will pay between $30.00 - $43.00/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and operate commercial HVAC systems across Mecklenburg County facilities includining the following
  • Chillers and cooling towers
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Rooftop Units (RTUs)
  • Boilers and heating systems
  • Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
• Operate and monitor building automation systems (BAS), including systems such as Schneider Electric and Johnson Controls
• Inspect HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, compressors, air handlers, ventilation systems, and related mechanical infrastructure
• Monitor gauges, meters, alarms, controls, switches, and operational systems to ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, and control system issues and complete repairs as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, operational logs, and safety documentation
• Support emergency maintenance response activities and critical system troubleshooting
• Coordinate with maintenance teams, subcontractors, and facilities personnel to complete service requests and operational projects
• Utilize safety procedures and OSHA-compliant work practices while performing all maintenance activities
• Participate in rotational on-call and emergency response schedules as required
• Travel throughout the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County region to support assigned facilities

Qualifications

• ValidNorth Carolina H1 or H2 HVAC License required
• Must be aCertified HVAC Technician
• HVAC Diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent technical training required
• 5-7+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred
• Experience operating and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems required
• Experience with Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, or similar BAS platforms preferred
• EPA Universal Certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, preventative maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications preferred
• Must maintain all required licenses and certifications
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Must be comfortable traveling throughout the greater Charlotte service area
• Strong communication and customer service skills required

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
