Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator to support HVAC projects in North and South Carolina. You will estimate mid-to-large commercial and institutional HVAC bids, coordinate buyouts, and work with field teams to ensure bids reflect actual costs.

Ideal candidates have a 3–5 year track record in large HVAC estimation, knowledge of codes and standards, and strong communication to negotiate with vendors and read plans accurately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years estimating large commercial HVAC jobs.
• Familiar with State Building Codes, OSHPD, ASHRAE standards.

Responsibilities

• Estimate mid-to-large commercial and institutional HVAC projects.
• Estimate equipment, material and subcontractor buyouts.
• Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to keep bids accurate.
• Ensure bids are submitted within deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of HVAC and construction standards.

Job Details

• Responsible for estimating mid-to-large commercial and institution HVAC projects.
• Responsible for equipment, material and subcontractor buyouts
• Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure bids are accurate
• Responsible for getting all bids submitted within required deadlines
• Maintain a working knowledge of HVAC and construction standards
• Read, understand and use provided plans and specifications to determine accurately estimated cost of jobs
• Use company estimating tools to provide consistent estimates

HVAC PRECONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• The Preconstruction Estimator will read all plans and specifications of jobs prior to bidding job and will create accurate cost estimates.
• Must be able to negotiate pricing with vendors
• Must be able to correctly bid jobs which come in at estimated costs

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred paired with a minimum of 3 to 5 years estimating large Commercial HVAC jobs.
• Familiar with State Building Codes, OSHPD, ASHRAE standards required.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
