Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, selections, and limited estimating support to Account Executives during project design or proposal phase.
• Assist in developing the customer business case for conceptual solutions.
• Support detailed estimating of projects to be finalized and presented to clients.
• Validate assumptions made during proposal and development phases.
• Build detailed cost estimates and scopes of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Sales.
• Prepare proposals, quote letters, and other customer communication documents, including takeoffs, specification reviews, special quote generation, RFQ and RFI issuance.
• Support Account Executives in becoming basis of design through timely selections, specifications, sequences, drawings, and review of documents.
• Manage project Profit and Loss (P&L) and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects.
• Execute equipment order processes, including startup and final payment, according to Johnson Controls procedures.
• Work closely with branch administration to manage backlog execution, scheduling, and forecast execution of equipment projects up to two years in advance.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to develop and provide engineered equipment submittals compliant with contract drawings and site requirements.
• Follow standardized submittal generation guidelines and verify “approved” equipment submittals before release for fabrication.
• Evaluate contractual scope of supply and the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes.
• Coordinate project schedules with customers to ensure timely release of equipment and maximize appropriate change orders.
• Coordinate factory equipment order processes to ensure technical and commercial compliance with contract documents and site coordination requirements.
• Generate technical content for Purchase Orders for field‑purchased materials and equipment.
• Select, order, and track delivery of materials and equipment for assigned projects.
• Coordinate shipping processes to meet factory and project schedule requirements and review equipment order status reports.
• Coordinate equipment delivery requirements with the customer and communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management.
• Review vendor invoices for technical and commercial compliance before approving payment.
• Coordinate post‑shipment services, including start‑up initiation and solutions for delivery, shipping, or scope omission problems.
• Visit customer sites to ensure delivery and receipt of critical equipment are in compliance with Johnson Controls, customer, and owner expectations.
• Ensure project documentation complies with contract requirements and Johnson Controls standards.
• Answer engineered equipment and controls application questions from potential customers and other sales channels.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
• Attend job progress meetings as required.
• Coordinate customer‑training requirements with local Johnson Controls service.
• Work with Customer Operations Associate to address billing and collections issues and to assure Johnson Controls receives payment in full.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience with HVAC equipment systems.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio), Adobe Writer, and basic Windows operating system experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism and persistence.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,20000-115k
