The Building People are seeking an HVAC Engineer I to assist with the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at assigned properties. The role includes rounds, routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaboration with engineers and staff to ensure safe, reliable facilities.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, two years’ experience (trade school substitution allowed), and a valid driver’s license; EPA L1/L2 certification and

• Two years' experience; trade schools can substitute for one year.
• EPA Level 1 & 2 certification required.
• HVAC/R Journeyman level training/certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Proficient with basic computing: Outlook, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineer Tech 1 with operation and maintenance of HVAC and MEP systems.
• Perform rounds, inspections, and routine preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and report issues.
• Support other engineers and staff as needed.

The HVAC Engineer I is responsible for assisting the Engineer Tech 1 for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance for assigned properties.
• Assisting other engineers and other staff as needed .
• Ability of use of hand tools, portable metalworking tools, electrical, welding equipment, mechanical components and or equipment.
• Maintain operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and system, to include but not limited to, clean and safe work environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, performance of day-to- day preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Inspection of engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, house pumps, electrical rooms, back-up generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps.
• Level 1&2 EPA certification .
• Commercial HV AC/R Journeyman level training/certification at a college/trade school.
• Able to perform duties of the General Maintenance 1. Required Experience & Education:
• Two Years experience (Education/trade schools can substitute for one year experience)
• Possess and maintains a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks (where applicable)
• Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word Preferred Experience & Skills:
• Two Years experience (Education/trade schools can substitute for one year experience)
• Possess and maintains a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks (where applicable)

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate of apprentice program or trade school preferred
• Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
