Job summary

CBRE at a world‑class Life Sciences campus in Lexington, MA is seeking an HVAC technician to operate, maintain, and optimize complex building systems in a GMP environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, testing, and repairs to ensure safe, compliant facility operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4–5 years related experience.
  • EPA Universal certification required.
  • Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS/work order system.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Analytical, problem-solving and good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a GMP environment and adapt quickly.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for theoperation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex commercialHVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems. What You’ll Do
  • Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Respond to Work Orders in a CMMS
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.

What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • EPA Universal required
  • Experience with Maximo or similar work order system
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is or $46.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $53.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
