Job summary

Hanon Systems is seeking an motivated engineer to support HVAC module electrical component design and development for current and new programs. You will interpret customer specifications, lead reviews with suppliers, and develop test plans to ensure components meet requirements.

Three years of experience in HVAC module or electrical component design is required, with a BS/MS in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience designing HVAC modules or electrical components.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical architectures and systems.
• Knowledge of EMC standards and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools for electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Use lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, function generators, data loggers) to support development.
• Interpret customer specs for HVAC electrical components and ensure design meets requirements.
• Lead technical reviews and coordinate with suppliers of HVAC electrical components.
• Develop DV and PV test plans for electrical components and release drawings/assemblies.
• Collaborate with CAD/CAE/test personnel across functional groups to support programs.

Job description

The Hanon Systems North American HVAC Product Development team needs an extremely motivated individual who has passion for learning, technical proficiency and creative thinking ability, to support HVAC module elec. component design and development of current and new business applications.

Primary responsibilities:

• Use laboratory test equipment, i.e. oscilloscopes, meters, function generators, data loggers, etc.
• Interpret customer engineering specifications of automotive HVAC electrical components
• Lead technical reviews and provide direction to suppliers of HVAC electrical components
• Lead electrical component discussions and moderate customer meetings
• Summarize and evaluate customer requirements, ensuring components meet expectations
• Develop electrical component DV and PV test plans
• Fulfill product design deliverables that support program milestone timing
• Lead product design and release of HVAC Electrical Components
• Manage, sign-off and release component drawings and assemblies
• Support the development, prototyping and testing of HVAC modules
• Monitor and resolve design and warranty issues
• Provide direction to CAD, CAE, and test personnel
• Collaborate with multiple functional groups to support program requirements
• Review test results and develop corrective actions
• Perform tolerance stack up analysis

YEARS EXPERIENCE:

Three years of experience with design of HVAC module or other elec. components

DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

BS/MS Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering

DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge of automotive electrical architectures
• Working knowledge of automotive systems
• Working knowledge of airflow and electrical sub-systems
• Understanding of global automotive HVAC electrical components and specifications

• Understanding of heat transfer and structural principles
• Understanding of CFD and CAE/FEA
• Understanding of NVH principles
• Understand and experience using automotive communication protocols (LIN, PWM, etc.)

• Occasional travel required (domestic and international)
• Occasional overtime and schedule flexibility required
