Take Your HVAC Troubleshooting Skills to the Next Level

If you take pride in your technical knowledge, enjoy solving challenging HVAC problems, and want the opportunity to build your skills and earning potential, this role was built for you.

The Big Task

As an HVAC Diagnostic Service Technician, you'll specialize in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing residential heating and cooling systems.

Your job is to accurately determine what is causing a system to malfunction, clearly communicate your findings to the homeowner, and complete the appropriate repair to restore comfort and system performance.

You'll use your technical knowledge, testing equipment, system readings, and problem-solving skills to get to the root of the issue.

We want technicians who diagnose the problem—not technicians who guess at it.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues using technical knowledge, system readings, testing equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Identify the root cause of equipment failures and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Perform corrective repairs and maintenance to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Evaluate system operation and identify potential issues before they become larger problems.
  • Clearly explain diagnostic findings, repair options, and recommendations to homeowners.
  • Educate customers on proper system operation, maintenance, and care.
  • Complete accurate documentation of diagnostics, repairs, materials used, system readings, and equipment performance.
  • Follow all safety procedures, HVAC codes, and company standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide a respectful, high-quality customer experience in every home.
  • Continue developing your technical knowledge as HVAC technology and equipment evolve.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a technician who is technically confident, curious, and committed to finding the right answer.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to accurately interpret system readings and diagnostic information.
  • Knowledge of HVAC safety practices and code requirements.
  • Experience working with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to homeowners.
  • A commitment to quality workmanship and doing the job right the first time.
  • A customer-first mindset.
  • A willingness to continue learning and developing your technical skills.
Who Thrives in This Role?

This role is ideal for the technician who:

  • Enjoys troubleshooting more than simply swapping parts.
  • Likes solving difficult problems and figuring out the root cause.
  • Takes pride in technical accuracy.
  • Wants to continue developing as an HVAC professional.
  • Can confidently communicate technical information to homeowners.
  • Takes ownership of the work and the customer experience.
  • Wants the opportunity to increase their earning potential.
  • Values working for a company that invests in training and career development.
