Job summary

Watco Careers in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Driver/Warehouse Associate to manage inventory, load/unload, and deliver HVAC freight in a fast-paced environment. The role supports our established HVAC distributorship by ensuring timely procurement, processing, dispatch, and delivery to customers and vendors.

You will inspect, stock, and prepare orders, maintain daily vehicle and forklift checks, and provide outstanding service to customers and drivers while maintaining a safe, organized warehouse.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to multi-task and meet daily deadlines.
• Knowledge of common carrier (LTL) and full truckload logistics.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide superior service.
• Willingness to learn and grow with the Company.
• Proven commitment to customer service and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily loading and unloading of products.
• Assist with delivering and transporting HVAC freight and materials to customers.
• Receive, inspect and stock all merchandise.
• Verify all items received to items ordered for accuracy.
• Pick and verify orders for customers and prepare orders for shipment as needed.
• Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager.
• Responsible for daily checklist of truck and forklift maintenance and reporting in/out times with merchandise returns.
• Appropriate use and maintenance of OF device.
• Assist with physical inventory and inventory control.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and/or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.
• Provide excellent customer service to external customers.
• Ensure grounds and warehouse are kept neat, orderly, and safe for employees and customer traffic.
• Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to one’s regular job duties.
• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for all other duties as assigned.
