Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Controls Technician III position. In this role, you will be responsible for Building Automation Systems (BAS), which is critical to our success in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service as it relates to the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems while maintaining quality and profitability. Location: Greensboro, NC

What you will do:

  • Provide technician support for Building Automation Systems (BAS), service contracts, system upgrades, and controls related service requests.
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
  • Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
  • Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
  • Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
  • Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
  • Provide training and follow-ups for customers and operations personnel.
  • Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
  • Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an accommodation
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Current first aid/CPR card
  • Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
  • Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals
  • Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls
  • Ability to understand written sequences of operation
  • Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
  • Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
  • Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST/IP, LON, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
  • Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player
  • Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $34.40 - $53.70 per hour in North Carolina. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
