Job summary

6AM City, LLC is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer / Controls Specialist to service HVAC equipment, troubleshoot controls, and program or modify PLC/DDC controllers. You will diagnose issues directly with customers and support startups and commissioning at client facilities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on PLC/DDC programming experience and can read P&IDs, sequences of operation, and perform tuning, with travel to customer sites and on-call rotation as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HVAC equipment troubleshooting and service.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC/DDC/controllers.
• Knowledge of BAS and HVAC sequences of operation.
• Ability to read P&IDs and plant utilities.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem solving.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, control systems, hardware, and software
• Program and modify PLC and DDC controllers
• Diagnose equipment and controls issues directly with customers
• Perform control system inspections, maintenance, software updates, and upgrades
• Configure HMI/user interface screens and control algorithms
• Read and interpret P&IDs and sequences of operation
• Perform point-to-point checks, functional testing, calibration, and tuning
• Support control system startup and commissioning
• Travel to customer facilities for service, troubleshooting, startup, and installation support
