Job summary

CAREL USA, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Engineer in Brea, CA to design and develop control solutions for HVAC/R systems. You will work with programmable controllers and product platforms and provide regional technical support.

Candidates should have a 4-year engineering degree and 3–5 years in programmable controls plus HVAC/R experience. Strong knowledge of IEC 61131-3, BACnet, and Modbus is required, with basic networking skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience with Programmable Controls and Electronics in a technical or commercial role.
• One or more years of experience in the HVAC/R Industry.
• Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 Structured Text and Function Block Diagram programming.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and process control diagrams.
• Familiarity with automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Basic knowledge of Networking/IT Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements programmable control solutions for HVAC/R industry.
• Trains customers in the use of proprietary hardware and software solutions.
• Interacts with customers to support the development of application software.
• Assists customers in the development and implementation of control solutions.
• Assesses existing control logic to identify issues and improvements.
• Works with sales and marketing to gather feedback on customer needs and trends.
