Job summary

CBES (City Building Engineering Services) seeks an HVAC Controls Engineer focused on EMS and BAS to design, configure, and optimize control systems for HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, and leak detection across commercial environments.

You will work on PLC/HMI programming, SCADA integration, and IP-based remote diagnostics, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful implementations and ongoing maintenance. Travel ~10% is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.
3+ years’ experience in EMS, BAS, or building controls engineering.
Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming and controls integration.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, I/O logic, and low-voltage control design.
Experience with remote diagnostics via IP-based tools.

Responsibilities

Design and configure Building Automation and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, and leak detection.
Develop process diagrams, SCADA block diagrams, control schematics, and technical documentation.
Program and implement PLC/HMI control logic to manage I/O (temperature sensors, valves, relays).
Monitor, test, and analyze system performance to identify issues and improve energy efficiency.
Utilize IP-based remote access tools to diagnose and support building systems across multiple sites.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful system implementation.
