The Division of Administration/Office of State Buildings in Louisiana is seeking a skilled HVAC Control Tech Master. The Division of Administration/Office of State Buildings has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of WS-215.
This is an HVAC Control Tech Master position that requires the individual to work independently and demonstrate advance knowledge and skills in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pneumatic and electronic systems associated with chiller microprocessors, commercial refrigeration equipment, Phoenix Controls, as well as building automation systems. This position requires a working knowledge of HVAC systems and their operation as well as a proficiency in Metasys and Siemens computers and building automation.
** Must possess an up-to-date EPA approved “Universal” certification card to service and repair both low- and high-pressure equipment, including small appliances.**
One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Three years of experience or training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems. Job Duties:
Independently troubleshoots and performs needed calibrations, adjustments and repairs to control modules, application specific controllers, microprocessors, relays, transducers, temperature sensors, etc. associated with chillers and commercial refrigeration equipment. This includes replacing and repairing mixing box electronic and pneumatic VAV controllers, temperature sensors, presser sensors, thermostats, actuators, differential pressure switches, relays, transducers, CT’s DP’s VFD’s, etc.; solving complex wiring problems; work with advanced level circuits schematics and vendor literature in new installations and the diagnostic repair of electronic components.
Responsible for the major overhaul and modification of complex, large tonnage, high horsepower chillers and other advance equipment. Performs complex diagnostic analysis of electronic and pneumatic controls such as VAV (variable air volume) mixing boxes, thermostats, static pressure controls, hot and cool decks, plus makes necessary repairs to the same.
Performs complex diagnostic analysis for mechanical and electrical controls on all complex large tonnage, high horsepower chillers, boilers, and associated equipment. Makes all necessary repairs and/or gets bids on services outside the scope of manpower. Independently performs routine maintenance on all HVAC equipment, boilers and all associated equipment.
This position will provide relief of Central Plant Operation when needed and considered “essential personnel” and may require emergency repairs after hours, office closures and inclement weather conditions
Performs other duties assigned by supervisory chain of command.
