Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Engineer to design, develop, and commission advanced control systems for high-performance buildings.

You will work with hardware and software teams to deliver smart, energy-efficient environments and ensure reliable operation with field support and documentation. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with field teams, and a strong focus on safety and quality in project execution.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing and commissioning Metasys systems (3+ years).
• Proficient with Metasys tools RAC Schedule, CCT, SCT, and Visio.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Proactive troubleshooting and rapid learning of new technologies.
• Strong drafting tool skills to translate vision into design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust HVAC control solutions from concept to commissioning.
• Develop hardware designs and software for intelligent control environments.
• Prepare detailed drawings, equipment schedules, and submittals.
• Procure materials, track timelines, and align with project schedules.
• Support on-site commissioning, troubleshoot, and ensure seamless operation.
• Document field updates and finalize operation manuals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide site-specific training.

• Innovative Design: Draw from our standard library to create flow diagrams, network layouts, and electrical schematics that breathe life into projects.
• Smart Programming: Code custom HVAC control software using proven design standards, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
• Design Communication: Coordinate detailed drawings and equipment schedules for submittals that make your vision crystal-clear.

• Hands-On Commissioning: Collaborate during installation to validate full system functionality, troubleshoot roadblocks, and deliver seamless operation.
• As-Built Precision: Capture field updates, revise system documentation, and prepare comprehensive operation manuals.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Hands-On Expertise:
  At least 3 years of real-world experience installing and commissioning Johnson Controls Metasys systems, including system-level controllers.
• Tech Savvy:
  Confident user of Metasys Tools like RAC Schedule, CCT, SCT, and Visio-this are your playgrounds.
• System Insight:
  Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Quick Learner:
  Strong technical aptitude with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and learning new technologies.
• Digital Dexterity:
  Advanced computer skills, especially with drafting tools, to translate vision into design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Educational Foundation: associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Computer Science-or equivalent field experience.

• 5+ years in the HVAC industry
• Proven track record installing and commissioning control systems
• Or background in designing or analyzing mechanical/electrical building systems
