Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Field Project Manager to lead profitable project execution, including delivery, estimating, and financial management. You will oversee hardware design, installation coordination, system commissioning, and project closeout on site.

You will drive cost control, resource planning, and change management while ensuring safety standards and client satisfaction across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Three years of Project Management experience.
• Basic accounting or cost principles.
• HVAC mechanical controls systems experience.
• Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and takes ownership of deliverables.

• Act as the primary on-site leader assigned projects and ensure on-time completion.
• Perform cost estimating, project scheduling and project management activities; maintain positive cash flow.
• Ensure projects are properly executed, as budgeted, and billed in a timely manner within scope of the contract.

• Establish and maintain long-term customer and contractor relationships.

What you will do

As a Field Project Manager, you are responsible for profitable execution of assigned projects, including project delivery, estimating, and financial management. Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout. Following standardized project management procedures, you will determine optimum resource levels needed to meet schedule milestones and monitor workforce levels.You will always have your hand-on project pulse, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to performance of work.You will be responsible for implementing site safety and security procedures and will play an active role in developing the safety program.

• Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
• Proactively work to establish advantageous long-term customer and contractor relationships.
• Interface with customers throughout the project life cycle to gain feedback on customer satisfaction.

• Provide leadership by demonstrating focus on exceeding customers’ expectations.
• Communicate project status to management, providing forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin for the PC execution.
• Actively pursue additional business opportunities through change/orders; perform associated estimates, prepare proposals and negotiate final settlement price agreements with the customer.
• Ability to foster and maintain a professional relationship with subcontractors.
• Coordinates customer-training requirements; provides the necessary documents and manuals.
• Adheres to all Johnson controls and customers’ safety standards, demonstrating a high degree of safety awareness for all Johnson Controls employees and worksite-based subcontractors. Safety first-One Team.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

$76,000 - $105,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
