Job summary

R.E Michel Company in Alexandria, VA is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to assist in profitable branch management. You will work with the Branch Manager and Regional Manager to set sales and staffing goals, hire and train personnel, and ensure accurate administration including inventory and cash management.

Responsibilities include driving sales growth, protecting assets, and stepping in as acting manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Develops new or additional sales in an effort to reach Sales growth goal.
• Assist manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing personnel in all aspects of branch operations.
• Assists Branch Manager in managing and protecting Company assets.
• Assumes complete responsibility of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
• Knowledge of heating and cooling systems (matrix) and basic accounting (ledgers, P&L, budgeting).
• Ability to communicate professionally with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of all equipment, parts, and supplies offered by the Company; cross-reference between suppliers.
• Ability to read catalogs, pricing/spec sheets, and computer printouts for customer recommendations.
• Understand local competitors; ensure duties of other branch personnel are completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving sales growth goals at the branch.
• Support recruitment, hiring, and coaching of branch staff.
• Help safeguard company assets and manage branch operations.
• Step in for Branch Manager when needed and cover other branches as assigned.
• Understand HVACR products and related financial statements to support budgeting.
